New Year's Resolutions

I'm not much of one for New Year's Resolutions - says the man who has a whole blog dedicated to a glorified to do list based around the resolution to try new things (Year31Project).

I'm not sure if I had a resolution last year? If I did it was probably similar to this year. Except this year I'm actually going to try hard to keep it/them. This year I am planning something of a total life overall and I'm planning to make it stick!

Firstly this year I have decided to try and be more generous. You can read about that HERE.

I am of course planning to get into shape... STANDARD! I plan to swim more, eat better and even potentially venture into the gym. Ok that's probably a step to far haha I hate the gym! But you get the idea. I need to look after myself better. I need to look after both my physical and mental health. Lose the flab, look after the posture and get the amount of sleep that I require.

Therefore, I am also planning to try and fit my life into a proper schedule (finally). It won't be easy for a night owl like me but I am planning on giving myself a bedtime - I think 12am is realistic - which I will try to stick to in an attempt to get up at a standard time - again I think 8am is "realistic".

But most importantly, this year is the year of my career. The swimming teaching went very well in 2015. Well enough to enable me to do something in 2016 that I have been wanting to do for a long time. You see being a swimming teacher is great! I love my job but it is not my lives dream. Teaching is a way to pay the bills. It is a way to earn enough money in a part time capacity, that I have enough money to live but also enough time to pursue my real passion... writing!

Overall 2015 was a pretty good year. I met my lovely girlfriend Liliana. I moved into a new flat where I am much happier. The teaching is going well and I visited some great new places like Italy and Croatia. However, in terms of my writing career, 2015 was a complete washout. But 2016 is going to be very different! I have a new attitude and more importantly, I have a plan. A plan to rent a desk space! Because unfortunately - as much as I have tried in recent years - I cannot work from home! There are simply too many distractions.

So wish me luck with what will hopefully be life and career changing "resolutions" and good luck with yours too. I hope that in 2016 all of your hopes and dreams come true!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
